After doing some research about crib mattress, I finally decided to go with IKEA Dromma mattress. The only spring mattress IKEA carries for crib.
Many people use foam mattress for their crib and swear that their kids have good night sleeps in them. I almost purchased one for my little one. But after reading about the fire hazard potential about foam mattresses, I finally decided to go with innerspring.
It is the most expensive crib mattress you can find at IKEA, but it’s well worth it. As we talked about it before, the depth of this mattress is more than 5″, a lot better than the standard 2 or 3″. I personally believe that baby need to have firm mattresses to give them as much support as they need. I have to say though that Sultan Dromma is firmer than I thought. I paired the mattress with LEN mattress protector and works wonder. The mattress itself fit perfectly in the crib (which is not a IKEA product).
The mattress protector is only cost $5.99 and all parents know that it’s a must. I love how soft it feels on its surface. I then fold the VILA flat sheet over the mattress for her. VILA has higher thread counts than most crib fitted sheets and I like my little one’s skin lay on soft sheets. Here is my entire set up for my daughter’s crib and I can tell that she loves it!
