How to choose a rug II

Permalink 08:06:41 am, Categories: How to ...

Continuing from our last post - How to choose a rug.

Choosing the right material could be tricky. If you are not an expert, it’s hard to call out all the materials. For most people, I do suggest to pick your style first. Most of the time, a rug is not only functional, but also an accessory piece to complete the whole picture. Keep your style and color theme in mind would save you a lot of headache. One thing we do not recommend is to choose a bold color for your rug unless you know what you are doing. Just like all other big furnitures, you want to make sure they will work in any color theme not just the one you are fansy right now. Besides, who know will fashion will lead us five years later?! What consider hot today might be out dated. We want to make sure we are stay updated with the least amount of money possible, right?

Also, when you choose the material, keep in mind the main function of your area rug. For different room, there are different amount of traffic the rug has to handle everyday. And different material will require different care for the amount of traffic it handles. If you don’t want to spend tons of money and time to clean your rug all the time, choose something that is easy going will help you save your energy. ;)

Last but not least, when you choose a rug, don’t be afraid to shoot your questions to sale person. Get as much information as your needed will help you care your area rug better in the future. Although most people don’t consider an area rug is an investment, I personally think it is. You spend a decent amount of money and you expect it to last for a while, right? Why not taking a little extra time to make sure you are getting the one you really love?!
